Coastside Community Orchestra is dedicated to preserving and growing music on the Coastside. Part of the Coastside Community Orchestra's mission is to foster a love of classical music in young people. The orchestra offers annual scholarships to graduating seniors, school demonstrations to 4th and 5th graders and has purchased instruments for schools as needed.

Gail Bishop Welter Fund for Music Leadership
Beginning in the Fall of 2024, The Coastside Community Orchestra, in partnership with the family of Gail Welter, announced the creation of the Gail Bishop Welter Fund for Music Leadership. With generous donations from Gail’s family, as well as orchestra and community members, this fund has become a meaningful memorial to Gail as well as an important vehicle to enhance the musical profile of the orchestra with professional musician leaders. In the first year, the fund underwrote our Concertmaster Chair, and subsequently has enabled us to increase support for our beloved conductor and other professionally trained section musicians.
Gail Bishop Welter
Gail was an active member of our orchestra, playing in our viola section for over three decades. She was our Treasurer and Bookkeeper for most of her time with us, and she gave generously of her time and talents to both the orchestra and our community. Please consider a donation in her honor, and in support of our musical mission!
